Shree Shantadurga devasthan agarshala was the only one of its kind among all the devasthans agarshalas in Goa which provided all the kitchen facilities to the people in the rooms like utensils, stove etc. and it also provided hot water geysers in all the bathrooms in the agarashala.

Origins. The second chapter of the Sanskrit Nāgavya Mahātmya, Śāntādurgā prādurbhāvaḥ, is a part of Sahyādrikhaṇḍa which is the chapter of Skanda Purana gives detail about this. Only the title of the chapter mentions the goddess Shantadurga and no where else is this epithet of the goddess mentioned.
